Sorry wifi is needed in order to backup to icloud.

I don’t understand. I have unlimited data because I have no WiFi. Why wouldn’t it be an option?

It has been like this since ios 5 has been introduced, it's 2019 if you don't have wifi at your house, there are other means to connecting to wifi somewhere else.
