Freeing up storage space by deleting pictures

I just deleted a bunch of pictures from my iCloud, but I do not see storage space freeing up. What could be the issue?

Hi Paolitapaolita and welcome to Apple Support Communities.

I see you're trying to clear space at iCloud by deleting photos.

As a kind of fail-safe, when you delete photos, they initially get moved to an album called Recently Deleted. They will stay in that album until they are either manually deleted at iCloud.com from a supported device such as a computer or an iPad running iPadOS or until 30 days has passed since the images were initially deleted.
