I do NOT have an update available under “update” software. Now what?

If you can't update your iPad over the air, connect your iPad to your home computer and do the update using iTunes.

Bear in mind also, I’ve spent all evening trying to download the update for both my touch and one of my ipads, no joy. If you download it via itunes it’s over 3 gig and can take several minutes to 2 hours....same connection, i’m Just guessing too much traffic on Apple’s end.

I’m going to try again tomorrow evening, and you may wish to also try back later. Traditionally the first 24 - 48 hours after a major release can be a bit tricky because millions of users are all trying to update at once, creating a massive demand on the resources.
