iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

my wife’s iPhone 11 scratched within a day, it was just in her hand bag pouch/packet, took it to the Apple store and they thought it was done by a key. Apple tech suggested we use a protective glass. Whereas we checked and key was not in the pouch , but then how do you prove that it’s not the key. She has not used it since waiting to get a case and protective glass.

Same exact problem for me with my iPhone 11 Pro. I never dropped it or even had it come into contact with anything. I went to the Apple Store and was told that the issue is “cosmetic” and that it wouldn’t be covered under my Apple Care plan. It is clearly chipped and is noticeable to the touch.

Extremely frustrating to have a 5 day old phone with a scratched screen. I’ve owned nearly every generation of iPhone...never used a screen protector before and have never had this happen to me.

Very questionable durability on the glass despite this being claimed as an improvement.

The day I got my phone (launch day) I kept the factory protector on the screen until I bought a screen protector. As the protector was about to be put on, the installer (Best Buy) pointed out a micro scratch on the screen. Sure enough, there it was. I asked him to hold off installing the protector while I decided how to handle things with Apple.

I made an appointment with the Genius Bar, took the phone in, and under what I suspect is “special” lighting in the store, the scratch was invisible. I spent my wait time (15 minutes?) looking for it and couldn’t spot it any more. When the Genius came out he took out a keychain flashlight and was able to find the scratch, but it appeared much more minor than I remembered it. He offered to exchange the phone as it was within the 14 day window. I felt a little silly exchanging it over such a tiny flaw that would be made basically invisible once a protector was installed...and since I’ll trade the phone in in a year, why fuss?

I left with my original phone and went back to Best Buy for the installation of the screen protector. One again, under “normal human lighting” the scratch was very visible. At that point I just said screw it and had them put the protector on.

So I have to say there does seem to be something to this scratching business. And I learned something about the lighting in Apple Stores...

I got the phone 11 and after 10 days I noticed the entire front screen was scratched even though I never dropped it. It was close to cracking so I replaced the phone and bought a case and screen protector. It seems to be doing fine but I just don’t like having a weak phone tbh.

Also, my mom’s iPhone 7 is less scratched than my iPhone 11 was.... how is that possible

I’m having the same issues. My iPhone 11 Pro is full of scratches after a couple of days. I keep it by itself on mu pocket so there’s no opportunity for scratches, even less something that looks as if someone took a Dremmel to it and added also a couple of lengthwise scratches that look as if the soft metal of the jeans buttons would have scratched the phone going in to the pocket. Never had this issues with previous iPhones. Seems like these screens either have quality issues or are less scratch resistant by design and Apple is keeping quiet about it.

Worse yet, they don’t cover scratches under any warranty. Even worse: their customer support has declined considerably in recent years. I even had someone from Apple Support over the phone Tell me to go to the Apple Store and they would replace it for me just to get to the store and have their very rude employees tell me that the person over the phone never noted anything like that in the support case and that they couldn’t do anything about it, that I should suck it up, because they also had scratched phones and it just happens (in a way admitting that the screens have issues).

Apple is not even a shadow of what it used to be... I’m considering switching my device ecosystem to someone else, since the only attraction of their overpriced products was the quality and support they offered....

My IPhone 11 pro has a significant scratches also after 1 day of use. Using it and carrying it in the same manner I’ve always done as any phone. My iPhone X has very little scruffs after 2 years of use.

Quite unimpressed with this scratch prone and buggy iPhone 11 pro. The bugs can be worked out. I’ve never needed screen protection but I guess I need it now. **** Poor Apple.

Having upgraded to the latest top of the range iPhone model each year on or near release date since the 5, including trading in my old device, I feel completely let down by the screen quality of the 11 pro max! After only 2 weeks normal use with no incidents, I am now noticing a new scratch daily. I have never used screen protection on previous models and based on receiving the full trade in price each year when I’ve upgraded, I never needed it. If I do not act now to protect the screen, at this rate a replacement display will be required before the phone is a month old!!!!

Very poor Apple!!

Unthinkable 2 weeks ago, but already thinking this issue warrants a brand switch next year.

Current Apple devices under contract: 11 Pro Max, Series 5 Nike+ Watch, iPhone 6S, iPad 2..

I have the same problem. I am very carefull with my phone, I didn’t drop him or put it in my pocket with keys. I noticed scratches on my phonescreen and I don’t know where they come from. I can feel them with my nail if I go over them. I am very dissapointed in my new iphone display. I never had this happen to me before with older iphones.

I have the same issue. I noticed two scratches on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. Had the phone less than 2 weeks. I can see them in certain angles especially against a dark screen background and can feel them with my fingernail.

I have only once (I think it was with the iPhone 4) used a case or screen protector ever since I have had the original iPhone and have never scratched the screen. I would get scratches on the back but not the screen. Even that would happen several months later, not after a few days. I haven't done anything differently this time. Yes, I may have a few coins in my pocket or maybe a key, but that doesn't happen frequently and is no different than with the other iPhones.

So it appears that this current iPhone's screen is much less scratch resistant than previous models.
