iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

I’ve had mine for two weeks now, I think Could be a bit less. Anyway, I noticed two small scratches today that I can feel with my fingernail. The phone has a case on it and has only been in my pocket with a fountain pen. The pen is always against the case, not the screen. Either way, this should not be happening with the “strongest glass in an iPhone”. I have an iPhone 6s that has one larger scratch but it’s like 4 years old now.

I am also a huge fun of apple, I own 2 ipad plus pencil, macbook, imac, iphone, apple tv, airpods, I would buy the apple watch if the battery is as good as my fitbit.

But this time, I think apple own us some explanation, they should at least investigate about this issue.

I guess issue with rbrylawski and sergekills was that, the scratches didn't happen to them, they probably assume that the scratches caused by some mishandling for the phone, however, they did appear from nowhere, I guess it was somehow hard to believe at first if they didn't experience that

You're absolutely right. The scratches didn't happen to me. I didn't let my phone have any opportunity to get a scratch. My new iPhone 11 Pro Max had a screen protector installed before I even turned it on, just as every iPhone I've ever purchased has had one. I paid $1249 all cash for my phone. These puppies are too expensive to gamble the screens might scratch.

My wife has a similar issue with her iPhone 11 (non-pro). She somehow managed to get two "deep" scratches that you can feel with your nail. No idea how they were acquired, she put her phone in a backpack pocket by itself, took it out a few hours later and there were the scratches. We put on a screen protector to avoid any more, but she was disappointed to say the least. She had her iPhone 7 plus for 3 years, and the only time she got a scratch was when my son dropped the device on the street, but that was also after 2 years.

There are no issues with me. Yeah, I see minor scratches in the direct light or sunlight, but I'm okay with that. Glass scratches. Surprise.

However, they are mot that huge like some people show. I do not deny that iPhone scratches by air. I just think that complaining here won't bring us anywhere. Return it, exchange it. Call Apple and let them know.

Curious that Jerry Rig reported the 11Pro has exactly the same scratch resistance as the X/XS.

If someone is going to replace their scratched screen, maybe they can do the hardness test first to demonstrate it is more easily scratched, which would suggest there are a subset of devices with faulty screens. Otherwise, it seems to be just normal wear and tear for smartphone screens.

Same issue! So disappointed, I used iPhone for more than 8 years and it’s always great. iPhone 11 screen is like ****! I went to Apple store and they say I made the scratch! I just put my phone on the desk, nothing happened. When I took a look of my phone, there is a 5 cm scratch on the central of my screen! I will never buy Apple again! They just know it’s all your fault!

Never started seeing scratches until the iPhone 6. The newer Gorilla Glass isn’t as tough as what Apple once used.

Corning now makes the glass for Apple but Apple use to have their own specs aka recipe for their screens that made it hard to scratch the 4, 4s, 5 and 5s.

I don’t even remove my phone from the box until I have a screen protector ready to install

Ok. I’ve bought iPhones since the first one. I never used any glass protector. I bought the iPhone 11 pro and was extremely careful and out of nowhere a long scratch along the side of the screen appeared, day 1 of ownership. I immediately bought a screen protector and said in the back of my head, Apple is going to have a big problem with these screens. This is just the beginning of this issue, I promise you. This is the big one, the big mistake Apple made, mark my word. Apple stop production and listen to these users this is a legitimate issue.
