iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

DEEPEST SCRATCHES EVER IN AN IPHONE!!!

After a week, my Iphone 11 Pro has so many scratches that my Iphone 7 did not have after three years. yesterday, the whole thing escalated. my iphone was on my desk and turning it around scratched the display so much that the display looked like it was broken. Like a rip. Anyone who has bought an iphone new looks in the first two weeks especially that it comes with nothing in touch, that it could scratch. But with the Iphone 11 Pro you have no chance. Apple, when will you offer us a replacement?

Ok...went to Apple Store and as expected was told the only relief was to use AppleCare to replace the screen. When I told the store rep about the bevy of posts with the same issue, especially about these anomalies that look more like smudges than scratches (i.e., could be a coating defect) she told me that was like going onto WebMD to look up my symptoms. Great customer service Apple! I decided not to waste one of my two replacements on the issue but will make a formal product quality complaint in the hopes that if enough of these issues surface Apple will do the right thing, stand by their superiority claim and fix the issue. Until then it will have to be a screen protector to shield the “weakest” glass ever put on a mobile phone!!!

I upgraded from an iPhone 6 to the 11 and I’m regretting it big time. My 6 wasn’t always in a case and I had that thing since it came out and it was in almost perfect condition when I traded in. I already have very fine scratches from where I scroll through apps with my finger. My finger alone is scratching the screen! I was told by the Apple tech when I bought this phone that it should be fine without a screen protector as long as I’m careful with it. Which I am! There’s other scratches that you can tell are from just taking it in and out of my pants pockets. Can’t believe I dropped all this money just to have this happen.

Same issues as mentioned by the 77 pages of replies. For some reason I’m being blocked from posting to start a new thread and my replies to others on this subject have seemingly disappeared.....Think the cat is out of the bag moderators and there’s nothing offensive or unhelpful in my comments so please stop as I feel bullied by your actions.

I am sure as a customer focused company Apple appreciate product feedback.......

Hi I have been following here for quite few days, just want to show you some support. I ordered an iPhone 11 but feel i better wait couple months until this problem is addressed by Apple. Also it is not that nice or really ''consumer oriented'' that some of your posts are just removed for no good reason.

I am just another person having the same issue! My iPhone 11 is one week old, left the plastic on while I wait for my new case and screen protector to arrive in the mail- I took the plastic off this morning as was starting to peril and there is a perfect straight line scratch from the top going about 1/3 of the screen. Looks like it’s been keyed!

This is bloody ridiculous- phone has not been dropped, has been only placed on its back, been in a pocket or soft purse with nothing else for the week.

has anyone had anyone had any luck with replacement??

VERY Sad and boring comments in here by those vehemently defending Apple.

buying a glass protector as a mandatory is not even a topic of discussion in 2019 for a premium phone. My colleague at work just showed me his iphone11 pro which now has a deep scratch after he used micro fibre cloth once to wipe the smudges, a standard thing to do. We are suddenly supposed to believe that everyone’s pockets are full of diamond grade dirt, give me a break.

this is a major issue, 80 pages on here so far, multiple news articles and a quick search on Facebook and Twitter

Apple should acknowledge this problem and offer free glass replacements. I encourage everyone to use the “send feedback” feature on Apple website

Come on man. Give me a break. How can a screen get scratches if you used a micro fibre cloth.

No one could install a screen protector on this phone without sratching their screen. That is really insane. everybody would have scratches right know on their phones..

Hard to bieleved.. I would like to see some pictures of a phone with scratches because you wipe it with a micro fibre cloth..

Please do not clean your new phones !!!

That sounds silly - but read through the thread - lot of people suffering from scratches appeared from nothing. We got already we have to use screen protector and case. We got we shouldn't put iPhone with "strongest glass ever" in pocket. We got we shouldn't use micro fibre cloth to clean phone. What also should we learn? Did we have right to unpack new iPhone at all?

Since I've sent my first message to this thread about week ago I got one more deep scratch and few very thin but visible at bright sun light.
