So 3D Touch is now a Haptic touch from what I understand. I don't understand the technical details about this, but I know what it basically means. However, when using it on lock screen notifications, this is a much longer process than on the iPhone X. Is it supposed to be like this? Is there a way to make this quicker in an iOS setting? It used to be an instant touch. Now it is literally 3-4 times longer to recognize the hard touch.

You don't need to do a hard touch.
I just put my finger on the icon and lightly push on it, I don't use near the extra force that was necessary for 3D Touch. And it immediately responds.
Thanks for the reply. The first link you posted is now outdated. Even though it says it's for 11 Pro, the screen prompts are incorrect for iOS 13. On the 11 Pro, there is nothing about 3D Touch anymore. And even When I go into Accessibility-Touch-Haptic Touch, there there is only a Fast and Slow option, not a slider bar like the link suggests. The default setting is Fast, and it's still much slower than the old 3D Touch. The second link does talk about the new Fast and Slow setting, but that's it. And Touch Accommodations will only allow you to increase the time of the Hold Duration. It cannot be any faster than 0.10 seconds.
Agreed. It's not a "hard touch" per say. I just meant that action of holding your finger on it to do what used to be a 3D touch, but now haptic only, is delayed. If you have a 3D Touch device next to it, you can see the delay in the new haptic touch.
Can you elaborate on "you don't need to do a hard touch?" When replying to messages from the lock screen, or dismissing reminders, the only single touch option is a hard touch.
I tried my phones next to each other and I can't see any significant difference.
