I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max and when the battery has completely died, I try to turn the phone on and I get the image of the red battery as normal, but there is also text at the bottom that says "Express Cards Available". Anyone know what this means?

It means that Express Transit mode is enabled on your device and that you are able to use the Express Transit with Apple Pay.

Got it. So even if you're on public transit and your phone dies, looks like they still make your transit card available so you can get out of the metro gates.
