Force eject options are not working on Apple cd/dvd player
We've tried every one of the options listed in the existing thread. None of them work. Is there any up-to-date directions to do this for Mojave ios?

Of course, we have no idea what these might be.
See "Doesn't eject disks or disks eject slowly" here.
Get help with the slot-loading SuperDrive on your Mac computer - Apple Support
Try the Terminal.app command:
diskutil eject diskx
where diskx is the device name of your DVD/CD drive -- which you can get from the command:
diskutil list
The correct disk will show a CD or DVD that might or might not be mounted. Unmounting is not needed in order to eject.
Good luck...
Of course it's always possible the mechanism that ejects the disk has failed.
