Ever since I updated iPhone to iOS 13.1 and my watch to iOS 6 texts and phone calls still come through on my watch even when airplane mode is turned on on my watch. I am a Dental Hygienist and it is very distracting to have my watch buzzing while I’m treating a patient. Any suggestions?

basically. Turn watch to airplane mode. Then go to settings. Turn off Bluetooth. Go back to home screen. Turn off airplane mode. Wait to connect (it will then reconnect Bluetooth). Then go back and turn on airplane mode. Then it should go to connect phone and then remember you turned off Bluetooth for airplane mode instances. Worked on mine :)

Is your Apple Watch and companion iPhone connected to Wi-Fi while in Airplane mode? If so, iMessages can still come in. You can read more about this here:

To test this, turn off Wi-Fi on your Apple Watch using the steps in this link and see if the issue continues:

That is incorrect. Before I updated to the newest software on both my iPhone to iOS 13 and subsequently iOS 13.1 and 13.1.1, and my watch to iOS 6, putting just my watch on airplane mode stopped phone calls and texts from coming through. That is how it’s suppose to work. I work in the medical field and can’t have calls and texts coming through on my watch when I’m at work. I have a cellular Apple Watch generation 4. The whole idea of airplane mode is that no calls or texts come through.
Hello, mine is exactly the same. I have mine on airplane mode and cinema mode as I’m a lecturer and turn it off to not be distracted in my lectures. The past week since the update I’m continually getting messages through when on airplane mode on the watch, which should just turn it in to a watch. You shouldn’t have to turn WiFi for this as my watch is WIFI only not cellular. This needs to be fixed!!
