Hello Grundletaint,

Thank you for stopping by Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having trouble with music not playing after opening Safari. I'd love the chance to provide a few steps that may help.

To start, make sure that the iPhone is updated to iOS 13.1.2: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Be sure to have a current backup prior to updating.

Next, restart your iPhone: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

If you're still having trouble, please reply with the following details:

-Does this happen when you're using headphones?

-Is Safari the only app that causes music to stop playing? If so, do you hear any audio from Safari instead of music?

Take care!

I got around it with Adblock. But there is a bigger issue now. I can’t access any cloud library music. It all shows up in my library but if I try to play a song the music app crashes. All I can access without crashing the app are downloads and recently added songs.

I have restarted the phone, signed in and out of iCloud and Apple Music and still have the problem.

Hi Grundletaint,

I'm happy to hear that your previous issue was resolved. I'd be happy to help further with the Music app.

Try the steps here, testing after each step:

  1. Make sure that your iPhone is fully updated to iOS 13.1.2. Be sure to have a current backup prior to updating: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  2. Enable Airplane mode in Settings (not Control Center) and try to launch the app.
  3. Navigate to Settings > Music and toggle off 'Show Apple Music' then test again.
  4. Navigate to Settings > Music and toggle off 'Sync Library' then test again.
  5. Delete the Music app then re-download and test.

Reply back with whether or not those steps resolved the issue for you.

Have a great day.
