FaceTime is buggy

Had an issue with my daughter sending me FaceTime requests on her iPhone 8 running iOS 12. Apple said it was her phone being the issue not running on 13. Gave her my old iPhone X I wiped and reloaded with iOS 13 and she still can’t contact me with FaceTime. Called my cell provider to be sure it isn’t a cell issue, find out they are hearing a lot about FaceTime issues since iOS 13 came out.

Apple released 13.1 and 13.1.1 in seven days. Two updates in this short time I would say they have a buggier iOS than they expected and just can’t fix it good enough or fast enough. Almost 2GB in two updates, is scary.

Hello Alex. And thanks for the reply.

Calls and text have no problems. Usually I get the notifications on the phone first and split second after my iPad notifies me of call, text or FaceTime. Since 13 I get notifications on the iPad first and a minute or more latter the notification shows up on the phone. But with FaceTime there is no notification on the phone only on the iPad, and can be answered only on the iPad. Apple support helpline suspected her phone as the issue, I had her take my iPhone X to att to swap her number from her iPhone 8. Still same issue. I contacted att to check their end for any issues, none found. They connected me with apple support again and as soon as I said problem with FaceTime the call dropped and I gave up, it has to be an iOS 13 issue since it is selective as to who can or can not FaceTime me.. I have done everything except wipe the iPhone 11 and reload iOS 13 new. Apple has already remote viewed my phone and could not find a single issue with my settings or account.

Apple couldn't find out why I had FaceTime issues, I spent the past week going over every setting possible.

Turns out that Hyia app although updated to work with iOS 13 was the culprit. Even tough I selected white list my contacts to keep my contacts from being blocked still some numbers got blocked in some ways. My daughter had no problems calling me or texting me, but when it came to FaceTime I never knew when she sent a request because it never made it to my screen. I turned off the settings in Hyia one at a time to test to see if it had been involved, turns out Hyia was the reason. Hyia has three switches to enable in settings, under phone, call blocking & Identification. Hyia Premium, Hyia 1 and Hyia 2. leaving Hyia premium and hyia 1 on with #2 off I was able to receive FT requests again. Have sent an email to Hyia to let them know incase others may be affected the same way so they can look into why it happens and how to remedy the issue.
