iPod touch stuck in recovery mode....

Hey guys, just wondering why everytime I turn my iPod on, it says "Connect to iTunes" but when I do, I get this message:

Windows needs to install driver software for your Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode)

- Locate and install driver software (Recommended)

- Ask me again later

- Don't show this message again for this device

I've clicked the first option, and after about 5 minutes it says insert the disk that came with the iPod.

This started when I tried to sync my iPod the other day for the first time in weeks, and it's a relatively new model (Bought Christmas 2009) but I don't know what OS or anything it's running on
It's not Jailbroken either

Also, I've tried holding the power + Menu button down for 15 seconds. Still nothing 😟

Please help! 😟

This may be a long shot but if you have any other users on your computer, you could always try to restore it on that other user or if not make a new user account and call it anything you want.

Then log onto the new account and open up iTunes then plug in your iPod, this then should alert you that your iPod or your iPhone needs to be restored and updated - If this doesn't work out then hit me up again and I'll try my best to help you out. =)

I wish you luck. 🙂

i have an itouch 2nd generation for about 2 years now. today, i charged it fully, but when i went to turn it on, it only shows the itunes picture with a chord. i plugged my ipod into my computer, but i tunes won't let me sync because i have a passcode on my ipod, and it says i have to enter the passcode. however, the ipod won't let me go anywhere past the screen it shows with the itunes icon. i don't know what i can do to solve the problem! any ideas?
