Hello.. I have xs max. My phone’s face id recognizes me when my eyes are shut. But my wife’s face id doesn’t recognize. Which one is normal?

Greetings Drcagri,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities! I understand you're curious why Face ID on your iPhone recognizes you while your eyes are closed, and why Face ID doesn't recognize you with your eyes closed on your wife's iPhone.

It seems Require Attention for Face ID is disabled on your iPhone. Require Attention for Face ID is an accessibility setting that allows Face ID to authenticate without requiring your eyes to be open while the feature is disabled. You can see that information outlined, and how to access the setting, in the "Accessibility" section of the following support article: About Face ID advanced technology - Apple Support

Kind regards.
