Apple watch 5 Settings not mirroring, stuck on “Apple watch basics” screen

Hello, i’m having some issues with the new Apple Watch series 5.

Straight out of the box, when setting up for the first time, the syncing process on the watch stayed at the “Apple watch basics” screen indefinitely (with the progress circle in the upper left corner stuck on the first “tooth” - even though it looked as completed on my iPhone. A quick power off and then back on did the trick and it booted with the watch face on.

Later on, I noticed an inconsistency in the settings and how they’re mirrored between the phone and the watch. For example, if I modify the brightness toggle on the phone, it doesn’t update on the watch (having them both on the same settings tab to see if the modifications take place simultaneously on both devices). Same goes for sound volume, toggles like “always on display” and so on.

Please help!

And by the way, I tried setting it up from a previous backup, setting it up as new - multiple times - with the same results. Even updated to the latest software - watchOS 6.0.1 and iOS 13.1.2 on my iPhone X.

thank you!

Hello zeno-111 and welcome to Apple Support Communities.

I see you're having some issues getting settings made on the paired iPhone to reflect on your Apple Watch Series 5. I also see that you have done some extensive troubleshooting.

Given the actions you've already taken, the next step would be to reach out directly to Apple Support.
