How do you know if an apple watch isn't paired?

I unpaired my apple watch and removed it from my account, then sold it on ebay. The buyer said it was still linked to my account and he couldn't use it. How can I tell if this is true? I logged into my iCloud, and it isn't in my devices. TIA!

Double check to make sure it’s removed from your account. On your iPhone, go to settings, tap your name at the top, and scroll down. You should see all your devices, such as your iPhone, iPad, Mac, etc. If you see your old Apple Watch there, tap on it, and then tap remove from account at the bottom.
