CarPlay not work on iPhone 11 Pro max

same problem for me with iPhone 11 pro max with Audi A3. It worked with my iPhone XS Max. Under setting, after having connected it with the usb cable, the phone does not connect to MMI. I am thinking to bring the phone to Apple assistance and have them trying it. And if it is still not working, asking for phone replacement. I don’t know if it’s a firmware problem, but if it’s not they have to do it.

I switched from iPhone 10s max to iPhone 11 Pro Max and CarPlay doesn’t work in my 2018 Nissan Murano the 10s worked flawlessly before switching to the 11 pro max. This is unacceptable and needs to fixed immediately. And I tried all of the work arounds on the forums and Internet. And it’s not just me it’s anyone who purchased the iPhone 11 and try to use CarPlay...it doesn’t connect and will boot loop or it does connect and is sluggish/slow or my favorite is it will connect for a minute or 2 and your music becomes choppy and unlistenable. Please get this fixed I love using CarPlay and don’t want to return the phone.

Also my 11 seems to connect around 90-95% on 13.2.2 beta with the battery 100% ...when the battery is not 100% I get a 50/50 chance of connecting. It’s has to be something with the way the 11 charges. This is a joke that we’re Guinea pigs for Apple.

Check on Reddit, and you will find hundreds of users with the same issue (different vehicles and some 11, pro, max 11 iphones) and some pretty creative workarounds. I have the same issue and am hoping Apple will fix it asap!

For what it's worth, I was having the same issue in my Chevrolet Suburban with an After Market JVC (2018 version) console. I went ahead and updated the JVC Console Firmware and it now seems to work fine. You may have to update your Car Entertainment system Firmware/software.

Same issue for me too. My X worked fine, but not the 11 Pro. Tried different cables, etc, with no improvement. Also tried removing and reinstalling on both the car and the iPhone. This works once but then the next day the car is "forgotton" again.

So I too have an iPhone 11 Max Pro. My phone would not work with my CarPlay I updated the firmware on my phone to iOS 13.2 Beta. I then purchased a half meter .5m iPhone USB to lightning cable Apple OEM from Walmart $19 After plugging that cable into the USB port on my CarPlay stereo I have not had any problems everything seems to be working smoothly.

I have the same issue with my 2018 Nissan Murano. It worked with my old 6s, a 7 and a X but not my 11 Pro. I spent 3 hrs on on the phone with Apple Tech support trying a lot of different things. They had me load tech profiles download the data to Apple. We tried 3 different cables. I then went to the Genius bar at apple and spent another hour trying functions out. They did give me a new 11 Pro, we reset it to be new with IOS 13.0 and it still did not work. I then updated the phone is stages and it still didn't work. I tested Carplay with each software update to the newest 13.2.2. Still a problem. It is now worse. It used to be intermittent, I might have to unplug and replug the USB cable 5 or 6 times then it would work. Now after about 3 time it comes up with the error of No USB devise connected.

I also contacted Nissan and have a Case Number for them to look into it but that is not going well either.

I just upgraded my iphone X to iphone 11 Pro. I am also having similar issue expressed here with carplay with USB cable plugged in. Carplay works for few min on my Nissan Leaf and then the skipping starts. The response from Carplay app on screen becomes very sluggish, almost like data transfer is choking. music, wifi calls, sound from youtube or anything starts skipping.

This is extremely frustrating. I tried resetting settings, upgrading to latest iOS (13.2.2) etc, but nothing seems to work.

I have to take lot of conference calls for work and thus have to use phone speaker now. Then i found out that the speaker quality is for sh*t on iphone 11 pro. I tried the same call on my wife's XR and the speaker was great..

So it’s going to sound nuts but it works, I had the same problem, 6 hours onto Apple “customer support” shocking - even sent the phone off to be sent the phone back telling me there wasn’t a problem

I then randomly grabbed a USB C to lightning cable which had a USB C to USB A converter on, and hallelujah, works perfectly

Thats great for you, bummer is I tried that a while back and used the apple cable that came with the Iphone and a USB C to USB A converter and it did not work. After what you say I will try another converter. What is the brand of converter did you used.

My phone didn't come with a USB C to lightning, I had to use the one that came with my AirPods pro, the converter was

I actually have that but it only works when the phone is powered to 100%...the phone needs more power to work properly....it’s the only phone with the fast charged they changed and they need to disable it by software if they are able to. My fear is they won’t get it fixed until the next phone

I just got my iphone 11 pro max. Being a tech geek, wanted the upgrade from my iphone XS Max. Love using my Apple Car Play in my 2017 VW Alltrack. So disappointed after plugging in that it did not work. Have a long trip coming up for Thanksgiving and desperate to find a solution. Bluetooth is not an option due to sound quality.

Hi all, I posted earlier about my issues with iPhone 11 Pro and Nissan Leaf CarPlay. I noticed that it’s almost like the regular USB Cable chokes on data transfer rate. I discussed this with an iOT engineer and he mentioned that USB C power option that 11 pro has changed the logic on lightning pins. This is fundamental problem. APPLE NEEDS TO FIND A **** SOLUTION!!

BTW, I also noticed with several trials that when you close all apps, it works for some time then starts skipping again.

I took the advice and purchased a USB C female to USB male adapter and a new USB C to lightening cable on Amazon for my 17 VW Alltrack. Car Play works awesome now. What’s even better, I work at VW dealer, so I can pass on the info!
