Verification code being sent to wrong number

I turned in my I phone 7 I had through Verizon today for a I phone 11 through Sprint. After doing so I was prompted to login to my appleID and apple has an extra security measure that sent a verification code to my old number with Verizon I no longer have access to. I clicked the option saying I dont have access to this number answered the credit card info but they said they will text the new verification to my new number in 24 hours. I was wondering if there is any way I can speed up this process.
