Texting problem with update 13.1.2?

I have this problem too, but have found that I can send msgs if I select the recipient name again from contacts (using grey right arrow) rather than letting message just pick up details.

Agree!!!! I have an IphoneX and since I downloaded the update, I cannot send an I’m without adding a special effect. ANNOYING!

Same here - iPhone 7, wife’s and mine both. IPad’s fine.

SMS texting stopped working after I installed the most recent iOS 13.1.2. iMessage still working. Anybody found a fix for this?

I've tried all suggested fixes none have worked for me. This is unacceptable I've been a Mac/Apple guy for decades. Soon I will be moving to a Google Pixel.

I can’t send text messages either. Also my battery dies in a matter of an hour or so even on low battery mode

Please go into your contacts delete any emails you have associated with the telephone number. Delete any emails you might still have then it should work fine

Delete any emails associated with any telephone numbers you have in contacts then delete any old texts and it will work till Apple fix the problem

I did the reset as someone suggested and that fixed my texting issues.

I did the reset. Still the same problem.

I had this problem too. Tried many things, but texts finally started working after I reset the network settings

PS - I did not do the full reset and don't intend to. That's the nuclear option and it's a PITA.

I tried all of the blogs suggestions. Finally gave up and went to apple store. They did a total reset and it cleared up the issue. Bloody updates.

After updating to 13.1.3 my iPhone X text msg problems. If I select person from contact list and hit message I can send fine. If I try to send directly from text message screen I can’t send
