XLD Audio Converter for Mac

Hi out there,

Can someone out there PLEASE PLEASE help me out here - I use XLD Audio Converter for Mac - when your open the XLD application then go to Preferences, then under output format I have AIFF or ALAC selected, then click on options on the same page it has five different Algorithms listed: my question is which Algorithms should I have it set to: Sox MQ, SoX HQ, SoX VHQ Linear Phase, SoX VHQ Intermediate Phase or SoX VHQ Minimum Phase to convert from AIFF to ALAC or ALAC to AIFF.

PLEASE PLEASE can someone out there HELP ME.

Eagerly awaiting some positive feedback.

Cheers Bruce.

Algorithm is used when resampling is involved.

If you want to keep the original sample rate without sub/up-sampling simply choose Same as original and the Algorithm will be disabled.

I rarely used resampling and when I did I chose HQ.

The following pages explain the resampling options (the point 5 in the second link is focused on algorithms):
