Text changes on save

I type into a cell in a spreadsheet. When I move the cursor to the next cell, the text that I just typed changes. What causes this madness???

Hi Dcneuro,

It would be easier to answer if you offered examples.

It may be that the cell is adusting your input because of how it is formatted. for instance, if I type 10/2/19 to a cell that is formatted to display "Wednesday, October 2, 2019" that is what I will get.

I had assumed that. Where do I find the formatting for the cell so that I can change it?
