I can't update or restore my iphone stuck on logo/ restore mode + error 14 low memory storage

My iphone stopped working today, probably because of full memory storage. I had issues with memory storage lately. My iphone showed several times a day, that my storage is full. However entering settings about memory it was showing on my iphone and my mac that I have plenty of free space around 12GB.

I was working late last night, making some screens of contacts on my iphone. When I woke up in the morning I couldn't open any apps like instagram or facebook. I tried to delete unnecessary videos. It didn't work, I never found them in the trash on my iphone.

So I restarted (power+home button) my phone and than everything started go wrong. Iphone was stuck on a logo few times when I tried the same thing. Than I read the article about updating my iphone to not loose all the data. So I put my iphone on restore mode however error 14 showed up ( I tried changing charging cables, usb ports etc). It can not be updated probably because of low memory storage. Last time my backup was made three hours before I finished my job last night. I was a bit angry that I'm gonna loose three hours of research but I said OK. So I tried to restore my iphone. But it's not working either. Iphone wasn't dropped or anything. It's still the same like I bought it with original hardware.

I don't know what else I can do

Hello madoxbardot,

If I'm understanding you right, you attempted to restore your iPhone in recovery mode after experiencing issues with storage space and your device being frozen. You've been unable to update your iPhone or restore, and you're getting an error 14 in iTunes. I'd love to give you some steps to help get your iPhone up and running again.

Since your iPhone was stuck on the Apple logo when you restarted it, updating and restoring via recovery mode was definitely the correct step to take. You've done some great troubleshooting so far. The error you're seeing in iTunes can be related to USB connections, a hardware issue, or even security software on your computer. If you haven't done so already, I recommend trying these steps next:

  1. Update iTunes: Update to the latest version of iTunes
  2. Update your computer: How to update the software on your Mac
  3. Restart your Mac.

If you continue to get the same error, try out any troubleshooting steps you haven't already completed in the following support article: Get help with iOS update and restore errors. Here are the specific sections that have steps for that error:

"Check your USB connections

If you see error 4005, 4013, or 4014, use these steps.

If you see one of the errors below, check your USB connection, USB cable, USB port, or computer:

  • 13, 14, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1611, 1643–1650
  • 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009
  • An error that includes "invalid response"

Here's what to check. Try again after each step:

  1. Use the USB cable that came with your device. If you don't have it, try a different Apple USB cable.
  2. Switch to a different USB port on your computer. Don't plug into your keyboard.
  3. Switch to a USB port on a different computer.
  4. If you still see the error, check for other USB issuescheck your third-party security software, then check your hardware.

If you still see an error, contact Apple Support.

Check your hardware

If you see error 53, use these steps.

  • 1, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16
  • 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 56
  • 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, 1669

Here's what to check. Try again after each step:

  1. If iTunes is already open, quit and reopen it.
  2. Check your third-party security software.
  3. Make sure that your USB cable, computer, and network are reliable. Then try twice more to restore your iOS device.
