battery drain iphone 6s 13.1.2

all I am doing at moment is charging my battery since the numerous updates of ios 13. If I never touched my phone the battery is phone, but in the real world I use twitter etc, check emails and text . I need to know what apps are doing this. I have a battery health of 86%. This is not funny now. I have better things to do than charge my phone all the time.

No, here with iOS 13.2 final release same bad behaviour. Half day battery life (from 100 to 5%) with moderate use... Coconut shows 58% health now... in iphone settings it tells 99% health... I contacted apple chat support: the battery is ok for mobile resource inspector (they suggested classical advice to improve battery life or, if I need, I can pay for the battery change...).

In brief, the solution is: buy a new iPhone Xr/11/11Pro.

Appreciate your sharing. As far as I have found in my extensive research there is no permanant fix for the 6s battery drain (not sure exactly what other models are having this issue or the extent, though I do know others are) the majority of us are experiencing. It's unfortunate that it's been put on the consumer to address, as this issue was caused by the IOS 13 APPLE update and should be addressed by them. At any rate this is the last update for the iphone 6s anyway...it will be obsolete for future updates. "Planned Obsolescence" is alive and well, welcome to the downside of free market capitalism.

As I've posted before, I had my battery and screen replaced by Apple about a year ago. My phone was like a new phone.

I'm still hoping the battery issue will be addressed at some point. I remember that there was a specific issue in iOS 9 that didn't get resolved until 9.3.2 (I think), so it's possible a fix will come. ....maybe....

An interesting anecdote from last night: my battery lost almost 50% of it's charge in a span of 3 hours. The battery usage screen in settings showed that the major consumption was Waze and Google maps....

....that I used for about 6 minutes to find someone's house. ::rolleyes::

My phone dropped rapidly to 1% and then I wanted to see how long it would go on 1%. I reduced the screen brightness and then used it lightly for another 1.5 hours before plugging it in for the night. It never went lower than 1%.

The one good thing for me I guess is that I've been trying to look at and use my phone less overall as part of my self-improvement. Since I don't want to use up my battery, I actually use the phone less. So maybe Apple gifted me a blessing in disguise! :)

If you read this thread and many other threads and tech articles you can search on Google, there are fixes offered. However, there is NO overall fix, there is not a solution to battery drain caused by the IOS 13 updates. You can see if you research that some people tired this or that & it worked for them individually. It happens on other phones too, not just the 6S and has occured in the past with updates. Personally I tried EVERYTHING, including a new battery (though mine was at 100%), deleting all apps, , as well as a resetting the phone and making every adjustments you can make to save battery...all to no avail. I'm keeping my 6s, I don't use it enough for it to be a problem and I'm never far from a charger. I will not purchase another iphone until Apple owns up or solves the issue.

I was fortunate to get some noticeable improvement, but still not near what it was. It has been a few months since i had single figures overnight!

I was reading another thread where someone posted here with an awful battery life on a IPhone 7 after the update, but she then posted again 8 days later to say it cured itself. She posted pictures from before and after. I started to read other forums, and in one, it was standard practice after an update to do it using the clean restore method, so I have done all the battery saving tips and leaving it a while. I must say that before I had not done any real battery savings mainly because my phone is on standby most of the time, and battery life was simply no problem, then suddenly less than 12 hours between charges doing nothing with it, and as a retired electronics and computer engineer, I look after it and it is charged with care. To be honest I am not impressed with all this, the phone was taken for granted which is how it should be in my opinion!

I always wait to do an update until well after the update has been proven in the field. In my iPhone 6s situation, I had traveled out of country and upon return my iPhone 6s would not connect to Sprint Network. This had happened once before in October, but Sprint support was able to correct the issue when I called in using WiFi calling. Not in December...so I went into the store. They changed the SIM card...didn't work...they then suggested update iOS via wifi...we did, and the phone was able to connect to Sprint Network again. I thought my problems were solved....little did I know, they were just getting started.

I also updated my iPad Pro 10.5 inch. This is where I first noted that iOS 13 was a bad "apple". My iPad could sit for DAYS without any drain...now, it might make it a single day and that's WITHOUT ANY USE AT ALL.....IN AIRPLANE MODE....with Bluetooth and Wifi OFF.

On both devices, all my apps are updated with the exception of one because I need to keep in version sync with my laptop.

Suffice to say, All the posts, and replies I have read are EXACTLY the same issue I am experiencing. Trips to the Apple Store, very few apps on the device, kill all the apps and still see drainage in a matter of minutes, go to the gym at 6:30 with 100% and by the time I'm done it's at 26% and I'm using the same streaming app I used before.

Last night, I took the same action as I have seen others take.....Ordered a new device (Not an Apple Device)….this pains me because I bought into the watch and the tablet and the laptop (although in my laptop world I still use both Mac OS and Windows 10). The ecosystem is great when it all works...but if one device suffers, the whole thing suffers....and it just so happens that the one device I rely on the most on a day to day basis is the PHONE....text messages, calls and quick web searches....not to mention the time I spent shopping for a new phone yesterday :-)

I did buy a used Android device and will keep my 6s in case Apple does come up with a fix....MAYBE, I will come back to iOS world.....because I do like iMessage….and easy to manage music.....but outside of those to functions, the things I use my phone for that earn me a living are a priority. Hard to make a living when you are on the road and your device dies after a couple of hours of LOW USE.

Same problem with my 6S. Battery was replaced by Apple recently. 88% battery health. It seems like my phone drains faster than it charges. I can be at 30% before leaving home for work after a full charge. This was always in the 90% range for the same workflow prior to the update.

I have to put my phone on the cord any time there is one available just to make it through the day. Frustrating!!!

I joined the forum today specifically because my IPhone 6S battery is draining like water down a plug hole since installing IOS 13.1.2. I can literally see the percentage dropping right before my eyes within a few seconds. However my mini IPad is still good on it’s new IPad OS. My IPhone battery health reports health at 100%. I have rebooted the phone twice and it showed a slight percentage jump upwards after powering up. The phone also appears to be running warmer.

Hello,

My Iphone 7 is doing the same.

My battery health shows 98%. Everything started after the system update.

This is what I have done so far:

Wiped the phone to factory settings and installed everything again one at the time. Disabled background refreshing, bluetooth, locations and most notifications. Disabled "share iphone analytics". Set email to manually, Running on low power mode.

I also waited 4 days for the new system to settle.

None of the above helped, on top of the battery draining fast in standby it also drains even faster when I make calls and it also gets pretty warm. I don't have many apps installed, I mostly use the phone for calls, text and emails.

With some many things disabled, I might as well go back to my flip phone.

I was wondering if I can go back to 12.4.1. I still have the 12.4.1 installer saved on my mac and maybe install it back using itunes.

Can I roll back that way?
