When will Final Cut Pro X be able to support the XF-HEVC 4.2.2 files from the Canon XF705 camera please? Having to use another company's product at present in order to convert the files. But really wan't to cut with FCPX

No one can say what Apple is going to do in the future.
Do these play in Quicktime Player? If so, you can transcode them to ProRes in the Finder, and them import and edit using the transcoded files.
No - sadly not. I'm having to use Davinci Resolve to convert them to ProRes.
