Email problem after updating to ios 13.1.2

After update, email doesn’t retrieve new incoming email when I open inbox. It shows the message “checking incoming email” but it continues to check without showing. It only shows new email at night. Does anyone have solution to this issue? I use gmail

I have the same issue here after updating to 13.1.2. I am using Office365.


Mail app will not update emails automatically or by pulling down. Randomly it will decide to update and a flood of emails will come in.

I see from your post that you're having trouble receiving email on your Gmail account in Mail after updating to iOS 13.1.2.


Try out the steps in this article called If you can’t send or receive emails on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and see if they help.

It appears that there may have been some of the above issues fixed in 13.2.3 "Resolves issues that may prevent Mail from fetching new messages" see this link for some minimalist details:- https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210393#1322


Plus there is a 13.3 release for iphones out now promising "This update also includes bug fixes and other improvements. This update: * Fixes issues in Mail that may prevent downloading new messages."


I'm just about to download 13.3 on my iphone 6s, hopefully there will be some joy, Ill let you know how I get on. If others try it do share if its good or not experience.

Hi so my mail app hasn’t been working since Saturday (October 12) that’s the last time I got mail but I get mail everyday and today I ordered things online and I haven’t got any email I need help also only shows vip and that’s it nothing else the pic with only vip is how it was before I added them on also I deleted the app cuz I hoped that would fix it but it didn’t and then when I tried putting in my info it just said it’s already in your phone and then I exited out came back and that’s when it showed vip also you know how you can use other apps to sign in like gmail or that one app email well it’s not working I can’t sign in those others so right now I can’t check them and I need them plz help!!!!

Okay so my iCloud was full so I deleted my backups and it cleared and the last three (sent junk trash) things came back and my emails from Saturday nothing else y’all think it was my space that didn’t allow my mail to come thru and now they won’t come anymore also I had my mail off so I don’t know why it needed iCloud space when I wasn’t saving anything in the first place OMG EDIT I WENT BACK ANDGIT THREE NEW EMAILS LOL OKAY IT WAS SPACE BUT THAT WAS WEIRD ANYWYAS THANKSS FOR READING 🤷‍♂️

Same issue. Email for one inbox (@me.com) will update and alert but my email inbox associated to my office365 does not update. I have to manually pull the inbox page down and release to get it to update. So I am missing important emails because there’s no inbox update and no alert about new email.


Also.... I really HATE how you have to call a missed call back to get the red icon to go away on the call button. If I review the list of missed calls, it should clear. I shouldn't have to call the number to get it to clear.


These issues are VERY frustrating.

I have a similar issue. In my inbox email from various accounts suddenly disappear and if I go to that individual inbox there is no mail. And then for some reason all the mail reappear minutes later. It then disappears again randomly. I have four accounts only one is steady

Same problem here, I see the message come in on the lock screen and message centre, but not in de the inbox. Refreshing does not help, I can click the message in the lock screen, it will then go to the mail. Same in the pull down message center. The mailbox then updates


Sometimes when switching between mailboxes, it will do the update.


Very inconsistent behaviour and frankly very annoying

My issue is similar, but different. My email all seems to be working fine, EXCEPT when I delete an email from my iphone, it does not delete off my Outlook 365. It did prior to this new update...I've talked with Apple, Microsoft, and my ISP and none of them know how to fix that. One oddity, is I've deleted my email account twice on my iphone, and re-added it. Once I've done that, the first email I try to delete functions as normal (deletes on iphone and outlook) but will not function as normal after that - it goes back to just deleting on the phone and not outlook. It's been a frustrating day trying to figure this out.

I am having the same issue - mail not downloading even when there’s the notification icon on the app badge. And after I open the email and go back to my inbox, it’s still unread. Or if I delete it, I have to delete it twice because it acts like it’s working and then the same email opens.


I am also having issues with my Touch ID for passwords - seems to not really work on some sites. I have to click on the login area before the Touch ID box appears.


Its been a week since this update came

out. Please fix these issues. They’d both concerning Apple apps/functions. The mail app not working is pretty unacceptable.


I have iOS 13.1.2 on an iPhone 8. Issues happen on both WiFi (multiple networks) and Verizon’s LTE.

After updating my iPhone 10max to 12.1.2, I on Friday around 10:50 am, I noticed that my native mail app re-sent several emails that had been sent originally around March 2109.


I started receiving emails from those people who were puzzled why I resent the email. I don’t have any idea why this happened. I would appreciate it if someone explains it and offer a solution to avoid the embarrassing issue!

I have pretty much the same problem after the upgrade. I’ve tried everything suggested. Seems it’s just the one account (Hotmail) that is not updating. I can get all email if I delete the account and add it back in, but then I still don’t get new ones. And when I look at just the Hotmail list, it says no emails. Ipad is showing all emails just fine after update, but not my iPhone SE.

I don’t carry my iPad around, so this is extremely frustrating!

Problem resolved. I was using.m email pop to iPhone from server and I think the update reset my email account which caused the inbox to clear. FYI I found the long list of email on my computer inbox or trash folder which I use pop to copy over then removing from server. I changed not to del from server, created a new profile in outlook using IMap and copied those files to it. I then changed my iPhone to imap and recovered the orig emails back to my iPhone. Sticking with imap now to avoid iPhone update from resetting my email and losing the files... it can reset but server will have the file to imap (mirror to) again.


Apple update should not reset any mail account or all mail on phone is lost if server removed the files... that’s crappy for people that don’t understand the trick to get email downloaded back to iPhone...
