I have the same issue, I have been so careful with this device as it's the first new phone I've had in about almost 3 years, so I am really surprised about the glass getting scratched so easily. I went into Apple yesterday, and they initially said they would replace it there and then - I got the phone is the Apple store, but on a plan through my service provider, who are Vodafone. When they saw the receipt indicated the phone is being purchased on a plan, the literally took away the new phone they were just about to hand over, and said no I need to go through Vodafone's return policy. I do believe Vodafone will be even less likely to care about this. Apple told me that the glass scratching was just cosmetic and that they have no way of proving what time span the damage occurs or at what rate these screens can scratch - less than 3 weeks apparently! So then, I ended up calling Apple's customer care number and they told me the same thing, but then I asked to talk with a manager, who was really lovely and sounded at least understanding of my concerns. She asked me to send through photos of the device and the scratches, and I tried my best to photograph them, but to be honest, the scratches are almost invisible except in certain light. At first glance the screen looks completely liquid smooth, but then as you move the screen and light goes across it, you can see multiple scratches all over the screen, they almost look like they are IN the screen. All I can say is my iPhone 6 plus took a very long time to get any kind of marks on the glass, and when i traded it in recently the amount of damage on the glass was not much more than what this iphone 11 already has on it after about 2-3 weeks of very careful use. Apple told me this was cosmetic but I tried to argue that all the marketing for the iPhone suggests that the glass is actually a technical feature of the device, which i do feel like it is when one of the main selling points I saw in every single ad showed an iPhone being splattered with all kind of stuff, and being tossed onto car seats, all of these suggesting that the phone is quite durable, but in fact, it is not. I guess this is going to a big lesson learnt by many Apple users.
