MacBook Pro not connecting to 5Ghz wifi signals at 36, 40, 44 and 48 Channels

Hello

I am using MacOS Mojave. My wireless router (Mi Router 4A giga version) is transmitting 5G signals in Channels 36, 40, 44 and 48 whereas my MacBook is not connecting to this always. Most of the time, it is not showing 5G wifi name. I have no option to change router country code (which might be a problem child). Please advise how to ask my MacBook to accept 5G signal in 36, 40, 44 and 48 channels.

Please note sometimes it *detects and connects" whereas my iPhone is always connects to this wifi signals.

Today, it is connected automatically to 5Ghz channel without making any change and shows a list of supported channels. Please have a look on below information. I don't know how it got country code as X0. Definitely, this is a problem of country code. I would be grateful if someone help me how can I fix country code to X0. Previously, I tried to change the country code to US or UK but it didn't work.

I would tend to agree with John Galt.

My MacBook Pro is a UK model aka Great Britain and my System Report lists it as Country Code GB with a different list of frequencies.

One possibility is that the country code and frequencies are linked not to the country of manufacture and supply but the the region setting in System Preferences. I would however normally expect it to be what market it was intended to be shipped to. If for example you bought it in the US direct from Apple and specified a delivery address in Pakistan Apple may have programmed it for Pakistan.

Different countries do have legal requirements for different frequencies aka channels.

The information you really need is that Mac's Part Number. If you have its original packaging, receipt, order, or other paperwork it might be shown on them, but then again it might not. That information is not available from System Information, on the Mac, or anywhere else.

What is that Mac's exact Model Identifier please. To determine it, use the same System Information you provided earlier. Its Model Identifier is shown under Hardware Overview. Unfortunately it will not reveal the reason its AirPort card thinks it's in Pakistan, but it may provide a clue.

As John Lockwood noted wireless cards (like any other RF-producing equipment) must comply with regulations that vary from one country to another.

... I have told that sometimes, it is displaying a long list of supported channels and connects to this router.

I understand. That Mac may connect to that router, but the information you posted clearly indicated those specific channels are not supported.

Just to inform you that I purchased from Apple when I visited USA last year. So, the region I set probably blocking certain frequencies. However, I tried to change the region to USA and UK but frequencies didn't appear. Maybe I need to restart after changing region or you can't see frequencies when you are connected with local internet service provider.
