No sound on earbuds
Recently lost sound on earbuds, both iPod and iPad. New ones worked fine for a few days and now are dead. Did trouble shooting on Google. Unsuccessful.

Eureka!! After losing sound on earbuds to iPad and iPod and AFTER trying every suggestion in articles and search community and help from zmclearan, I made one last foray onto the internet.
There can be a little on/off switch on the earbud cord. Turn it ON.

Hello,
Try resetting iPad's network settings in Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Be certain you do not select Erase All Content and Settings as this will erase all of your information. It is a good idea to perform a backup of your iPad prior to resetting its settings.
Thanks! Probably! FYI, I focused on my iPad (both iPad and iPod lost earbud sound) and eventually did the update (had already tried restore). Took hours, but seems to have worked just fine EXCEPT no sound through earbuds, and I have tried two sets. May go out to genius bar. I see that losing sound on earbuds is a super common problem, but not for me until recently, and I so like my audiobooks!

Very interesting! I have not heard of an earbud having a dedicated on/off switch! I am happy to hear all is working as expected again.
