Notify when found won’t work
Find My Phone - IPhone 7: I do not have the option to select notify when found, it is grayed out.

Is your device unable to be located with Find My? The following support article outlines that Notify When Found becomes available when your device is unable to be located: Locate a device in Find My iPhone on iCloud.com - Apple Support
"If Find My iPhone can’t locate the device, the last known location is displayed for up to 24 hours. Click Notify When Found to get an email when it comes online."
