How to Hide Passwords on iPad

Can you hide passwords on an iPad? My son uses an iPad with YouTube and Proloquo which have been purchased and shared on my Apple ID. Other people use the iPad with him at school for communication, so they know the code to unlock the iPad. I had no idea they could see all of my passwords for everything!! How do I hide them? It seems ridiculous there is so much security on my phone and MacBook, but then his iPad just hands the passwords to everyone with zero security,,,, help!

Hello,

It is not wise to share an Apple ID between multiple people. If this iPad is strictly used by him then it may be worth creating an Apple ID for him so yours and his content will stay separated.

Family sharing will actually give you much greater control over apps, but he can still use any on your purchase list.

I have another suggestion: Buy an anti-theft iPad Holder and secure your iPad at home, also do hide the key in a safe remote place which your child can’t find, pls refer to this YouTube video: https://youtu.be/1iIbAnONe_U

Thank you everyone! My son is severely disabled, so I'm not concerned with him knowing the code, it is those working with him :-). I didn't realize you could set up a separate ID for a child and still have access to the apps, so I will give that a try! I have to go through multiple steps to access my passwords on my computer and phone and then my son accidentally hit settings and there were all of my passwords with zero security. I was just a little surprised.... Appreciate the help!!

Kids nowadays are really smart. Since your child is so clever who knows coding to break all your passwords, my suggestion is for keep your iPad out of reach of your child, don’t let your child bring your iPad to school.

Since he and his iPad are using your AppleID, he has the same access as you for everything tied to that AppleID - icloud, iCloud Keychain, FaceTime calls, iMessages, etc. The device and Apple’s service only know the AppleID used, not the person whose using it.

You will need to set him up with his own AppleID and use family sharing for purchases.
