Hard Drive has over 200 gb for "Other Users"

With my 2010 MacBook Pro running MacOS 10.12.6 Sierra my internal 512 gb SSD says that 223 gb are for other users. What is that? How do I free-up that space? I am only "using" about 130 gb -- my wife and I are the only users (both administrators) -- I had a "guest account" but deleted that hoping that was the issue but that was not it…

I am not sure how long these 223 gb have been devoted to "Other Users" as I don't use this MacBook Pro that often-- but it is incredible! What to do to reduce or eliminate the 223 gb devoted to "Other Users"??

Thanks very much!

SOLVED! - not sure how or why, but I was signed-in to my wife's account and it turned-out that MY account had 200+ gb of invisible something in there and now I'm back to 320 gb of free space!!! (After fully deleting my account and files). All set and thanks!!

Hey! If you only have two users then that should be your wife's account info... Check your wife's account out, so it can give you more detail about it. I would say it's probably a lot of photos or your phone's back up. Those tend to take a lot of space! You could get a portable SSD and move your photo gallery to it. I recently did that from all the users and freed up almost 150Gb. You can keep the SSD connected to your Mac so it opens automatically or just plug it in whenever you want to see or add more pictures to it.

I hope that helps :)
