The keyboard in mail will not allow the screen to scroll down when typing an email

With the last upgrade to iOS 13, I have not been able to type an email on my phone and the screen scroll up as I type below the keyboard. The keyboard will block the screen preventing the text behind the screen being revealed. Is there something that must be set on the phone to preclude this odd behavior.

Hello Chuck T!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. I see from your message that the screen is not scrolling up as your typing an email in the Mail app. If this is correct, the first place I’d begin is working through the first three steps of this article:  If an app unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open

If the issue is still persisting, check to see that you’re using the native built-in iOS keyboard, and not a third-party one. To do this go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards. Here in the US you’ll typically see English (US) and Emoji. If there are any third-party keyboards installed, remove them with the steps under, “Add or delete a third-party keyboard app,” in this article: About the keyboards settings on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

If the issue persists, message me back.

I hope this is helpful
