My AirPods exploded

I bought these AirPods a couple weeks ago in hopes of a good new experience. I have used these almost everyday since but I came home one day to a smoking pair of AirPods and a smell similar to skunk coming from the right AirPod. Both of the AirPods where in the case but when I saw them I took the AirPod outside and that’s when it exploded. The air pods where brand new and in great condition I’m wondering what can be done about this? Any points or tips would be appreciated.
