So I upgraded to Catalina today, and then tried to sync my iPhone (knowing to expect differences with the upgrade due to the departure of iTunes). However, when connected, it just continues to sync, and there is no status bar to show the progress, so I'm left guessing where it's at, what it's doing. etc. It has been syncing now for over an hour, and still no signs of coming to an end any time soon. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thank you for sharing all this information. I looked at the /~Library/Preferences/ directory and found that I have 56 com.apple.*.plist files. So do you think it is safe to delete them all? Most of them look like they are config type files. I am having a hard time pulling the trigger on the delete button.
This is exactly what keeps happening to me, and it is so frustrating! I even wiped my iOS Device thinking it was that. Have you found any solution?

If anyone else has this problem, deklete the libray located at: " /Users/Pascal/Library/Application Support/com.apple.AMPLibraryAgent/Libraries ". Old iTunes list of podcasts gone.
Just an update. My music has no search bar/magnify glass at the top any longer. Any ideas on how to search in the new music? Did they fix one thing and break another??
Just out of curiosity, since Catalina had install issues, has anyone tried a fresh install?

@photoguy no I only wiped my phone! Catalina didn’t have any issues while installing so that didn’t even cross my mind.
as said, deleting those preference files and the cache seemed to help, then.
it worked once.
same feelings here... first step ( buying a huawei ) is done and i am not happy about it.....
All that matters are to them are new "emojis", proudness of Apple!
