For this printer, the HP Recommended driver is for OS X v10.1 thru 10.4, and if you downloaded that driver, it is nearly two decades out of date — so no wonder you got that error message. It was for PowerPC Macs.

The current driver was released in Sept/2019, and is here. Install the current driver and see if your printer works after you Reset the Print System, so it can see the new driver.

the problem is that precisely that driver, namely Mac printer driver 572 mb sept 2019, gave this error to macOs Mojave 10.14.6.

`You can't open the application` HP HP Inkjet Installer` because it is not supported on this type of Mac`
