iPadOS / iOS13 - Hindi Devanagari keyboard

I updated my newly purchased iPad Pro to iPadOS and it appears that Apple has removed the letter ‘La’ or ‘b’ from the Hindi - Devanagari keyboard. I am using the Smart Keyboard Folio and this update has made my purchase completely useless. I cannot use Marathi because it doesn’t have Devanagari on the Folio.

I erased my iPad but it still loads iOS 13.

Can someone help me to restore the iOS to 12 or factory reset my iPad. or give me a solution to the keyboard problem.

Thanks,

Mihir

You are right. LLA can only be made now on the "Devanagari Qwerty" layout (shift L).

How stupid! They seem to have changed the keyboard name from "Devanagari" to "Hindi" and at the same time deleted LLA and LLLA because Hindi itself doesn't use them. To tell Apple to fix this, you can use

Thanks for your reply, Tom.

Yes you are correct that they exist on the Devanagari QWERTY keyboard but not many people use that format.

Everyone I know uses the pure Devanagari keyboard which is now called “Hindi” in macOS and on the iOS Hardware keyboard. The absence of LLA in Marathi is pretty huge and a showstopper. A lot of words in the language have that letter.

I’m also attaching details on iPad issue that we sent to the engineering team here:

UPDATE: On iOS, "A" for Apple has changed to Shift + 1 and is only working in Konkani. Not working in Hindi and Marathi.

Debugged the issue with Apple support today and we found that this issue also affects the Macbook keyboard on MacOS Catalina 10.15. This is bad! Anyone who's on MacOS Catalina cannot write the letter LLA and the word "Apple". MacOS Catalina doesn't even have Konkani and there's no workaround.

Apple has escalated this issue to their engineering team and an update will be provided on Monday.
