Apple Intelligence is now available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac!

Sidecar is greyed out in System Preferences.

I'm using a current iMac (9th gen 6 Core i5) and a current iPad Pro.

The iMac is on Catalina and the iPad on 13.1.2

Sidecar is greyed out.

I've tried restarting the Mac and the iPad too.

I use ethernet with the Mac, but have switched over to WiFi and checked that the iPad is on the same network.

I've also tried a USBC cable between the iPad and iMac.

Nothing.

Anyone else having the same experience?

What magical incantation am I missing?

Hi Doug Young and thanks for being a part of Apple Support Communities.

I see you're having some difficulty with the new Sidecar feature between a Mac and an iPad Pro. You've also done some great troubleshooting on your own already. Try these:

Toggle Handoff off and back on for both devices.

Use Handoff to continue a task on your other devices - Apple Support

Toggle Bluetooth off and back on for both devices.

Reset the user permissions:

Resolve issues caused by changing the permissions of items in your home folder - Apple Support

Finally, try setting up a test user account and test there.

How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac - Apple Support

If none of that resolves the issue, contact Apple Support and let them know you have already taken all of these steps.
