cant search anything in itunes store(Mac Catalina)

The problem isn't the inability to connect, as reference in the article you provide. The problem is that there is no search field in the iTunes Store. The only search field in the Music App window is in the upper left corner, and that search field applies to one's library, not the store. There is no way to search for anything in the store.

The person who wrote the question asked about being able to search on the Apple store with the Catalina update. This is the same question that I have. The article that you provided DID NOT address the question at all. why provide a treasure hunt when there is no treasure? Kind of mean.

I had the same problem and found a solution. Open music app. Ensure iTunes store is showing in left hand column if it isn't open preferences and tick box for iTunes store under General tab Type your search enquiry into search box at top left. Look to the top right and you will see three search options. Apple music, Your library or iTunes store. Click iTunes store.
