i have pretty much the same problem i was using my ipod fine one minute then the next nothing would move on my screen when i touched, the button at the bottom still worked but i couldnt click on any of my apps, then it locked itself because i was inactive for more than a few seconds, then when i tried to get into my ipod i couldnt slide the thing across the bar, it wouldnt move at all, all i could see was my screen saver, i went and i reset my ipod to factory settings on my computer and updated it again and everything but the problem is still the same, its fully charged but only the volume buttons at the side, the power button at the top and the big button at the bottom work, the screen doesnt respond to my touch at all.nowit seems even they arent working though, i know my ipod is fully charged but i cant even get to my screensaver no matter what button i click
hi velasca,
exactly the same problem with my ipod. how many GB do you have? i have 64 GB and i think, this is a part of the problem because friends of me have only 32 GB and the problem doesn´t exist. try to hold down both buttons (on/off and the round button)as lonf, as the apple sign appears (nearly after 6 to 10 sec.). Mostly ist will work then. bye

If the other recommendations do not work then you can:
- restore from backup
- restore to factory-new condition. If i works OK in this configuration them problem is either with corruption in your backup or a problem with an app. The add things back to your iPod one by one.

my touch screen doesn't work at all. I've done the factory restore, the holding down 2 buttons and nothing has worked. It displays a "lock" at the top/ middle of the screen.
