If you run into an issue using any third-party applications after a major update like macOS Catalina, you would first want to make sure you check the Mac App Store to complete any and all updates for your apps: Use the App Store to update apps on Mac - Apple Support.
If the issue remains with your third-party apps, it's recommended to reach out to the app developer to report any issue while operating your games on the new macOS: How to contact an app developer - Apple Support. It is possible that the application may need to be updated by the app developer to help with compatibility of the new macOS.

If you performed a last Time Machine backup on Mojave before you upgraded to Catalina, and you did not reuse that same Time Machine drive to backup Catalina. — then you have a way back to Mojave.
On Catalina, visit System Preferences : Time Machine and switch it off. Then, remove any Catalina specific Time Machine drive, and connect the Mojave Time Machine drive. Next, reboot into Recovery ⌘-R, and from the primary menu, select Restore from Time Machine backup.
Time Machine will then wipe clean the Catalina boot drive, and then restore your entire Mojave as you last backed it up, including your home directory. At least, this is what should happen in practice, because I am not going to do so with Catalina here. This technique has worked for me on prior operating systems.
I also owned the Hoyle disks. Yes, they do not work in Catalina because they are 32 bit. I have checked around a lot and there is no talk of updating them for Macs.
Since installation of Catalina, I have been unable to play many games purchased over the last few years. I am advised to contact the provider - but this is not made easy. Gave up & deleted those that I cannot use. But I really enjoyed plating the Hoyles games which I purchased quite a few years ago - especially Pachisi, my favourite fun game. Have tried to purchase a new up to date version via App Store - but it does not exist. Where is Hoyles ?? Most of the new games available seem to be directed to children.
I am VERY VERY unhappy with the update to Catalina. MANY of the programs I bought and use on my NEW MacBook Pro, I can't continue to use, including the Hoyle Card Games and Board Games. The developer isn't going to update the program for JUST ME and a few other folks! I should have been warned about this being an issue.
I spoke with someone at Apple Support that told me I was "Out of luck" and basically had to suck it up and deal with it. I want to go back to Mojave, which was operating beautifully with my programs. The Apple customer person told me that I can't go back.
If I had know that BEFORE I wouldn't have updated.
I WANT TO GO BACK TO MOJAVE and there has to be some way that this could be done. Unless Apple doesn't care.
