Airplay Problem

Why is the Airplay Icon for my new MacBook Pro not showing in my menu? I am trying to use sidebar. Both of my devices are on the same network and I checked the box in the Display Box of Settings/Preferences. Yet, the airplay icon is still not showing up.

Can someone help please?

Hello KNX_9193,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like the AirPlay icon is not displaying to use Sidecar with your iPad. I'll help in any way I can.

Check out these suggestions that might help:

Verify that your Mac and iPad meet the requirements to use Sidecar and that both devices are signed in with the same Apple ID for iCloud: Use your iPad as a second display for your Mac with Sidecar
Turn Handoff off then back on for both devices: Use Handoff to continue a task on your other devices
Toggle Bluetooth off and back on for both. iPad will be in Settings > Bluetooth. Mac will be in System Preferences > Bluetooth.
Reset the user permissions that can cause issues with connection: Resolve issues caused by changing the permissions of items in your home folder
Test in another user account: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac
- If the issue doesn't happen in a new user, try removing the login items on your current user: Open items automatically when you log in on Mac
