Catalina Upgrade

During the installation process, after terms and conditions I have a message of not APFS disk and I cannot proceed.

Hi,


Can you still access your system?

If yes, let's first clear the obvious - try opening Disk Utility and check if your system actually is APFS.

It is visible like this:


If you can not boot into macOS any more, try to reach Recovery mode.

To reach recovery mode, shutdown your Mac, turn it on and then immediately press and hold CMD + R.

Once you reach Recovery mode, you can start Disk Utility and check there.


If your drive is still in MacOS Extended (Journaled) file system, you will need to upgrade file system first.
