Sorry to say that, unfortunately, you can’t install iPadOS on your iPad2. Your vintage iPad is simply too old - and lacks the necessary hardware (CPU, RAM etc) to run iPadOS or later versions of iOS.

Perhaps its time to replace your iPad with a new model? Your iPad is now, forever, stuck at iOS 9.3.5.

An iPad 2 is an 8-1/2-year old device, now! and has not been supported by Apple in 3-years!

Your iPad is far too old to run anything else other than iOS 9.3.5/9.3.6.

Its internal hardware is too old, woefully underpowered and completely incompatible with any current and future versions of iOS.

Sorry.

If you need an iPad that can run the latest and greatest versions of iOS, as well as, the most current apps available, then, you will need to purchase a new iPad from Apple or a discounted, refurbished iPad from Apple’s Refurbished & Clearance section of Apple’s Website.

Time for a new iPad or discounted, refurbished iPad from Apple!

Best of Luck to You!
