Password not accepted after OS upgrade

I have upgraded my new iMac to Mojave 10.14.6 and now my system password is not recognised.

I can login but not make any changes.

How can I rectify this please?

It appears you are having an issue with either the admin password on your Mac or the keychain.


Reset your Mac login password - Apple Support


If you are being asked over and over for a keychain password, use these steps instead:


If your Mac keeps asking for the login keychain password - Apple Support
