AirDrop in High Sierra

Trying to use airdrop in high sierra for the first time, the actual airdrop panel appears but non of the buttons funtion, no messages other than the blue symbol. Have tried all the reccomended cures (re starrt, pram etc) but no joy. any suggestions?

Hi Becky

Thanks for your input. The problem is that the panel is effectively greyed out - none of the buttons work, and apart from the blue symbol there is no other writing to give me any options. Below is what I see -


I have tried the various fixes suggested on the forum, none seem to help! Any further ideas, please let me know.

Thanks for getting back to us with that information, Nunton. It's appreciated. Since there's no way for you to instigate AirDrop from your Mac, I'd like you to contact Apple Support.


Apple - Support - Product Selection — After selecting this link, choose whichever type of Mac you're using and type AirDrop in the Search topics field. Choose "Using AirDrop to share content", then select how you'd like to begin the conversation.
