The set up has been going for 45 min. Is this normal
the set up for new os is spinning for 45 minutes now. Is this correct? If so can it go offline to set up?
If you are stuck on the setting up your mac screen, power off the Mac and restart.

This did the job. I ended up calling/texting Apple and got this answer. No patience to wait on answer here after almost an hour😊. Seems Apple could put that in their list of to do’s.
Glad it's fixed. It doesn't happen for everyone. I upgraded 5 different Macs to Catalina without getting "stuck".
