Anyone else having manual sync issues with photos->ios13 not working with selected albums only?
Since around beta 3 of Catalina, I've been having sync issues form photos, using selected albums in the local photo library (not using iCloud photos), first trying to sync to an iPhone X running io13 betas, not to an 11 pro max on 13.2 beta. The dev forums suggested I post here (though the initial post was before release), as it was more "user focused", so here goes:
When I connect my phone, go into the Finder, and select the photos tab, I manually select a bunch of albums to sync to the phone and try to kick the sync off.
The phone apparently goes through the sync (though annoyingly you now can't see what the copy progress is - another thing that would be useful in a Finder power user mode) and completes, but the photos don't appear on the phone at all. On "completion", the selected albums are shown unchecked in the photos tab in the Finder as if they'd even not been selected in the first place; the view has updated..
I had a similar problem in earlier beta mac os iterationa but found that doing an cms+opt+start on photos and repairing the photo library did the trick. Not this time. I also tried clearing out any residual settings just in case: I tried doing defaults delete com.apple.photos and defaults delete com.apple.iphoto
