Lack of "Delete Photo From Library" function within an Album in Photos 5.0

To delete just from an album select the thumbnail and use the Delete key.

To delete from the library select the thumbnail and use the Delete + ⌘ key combination. That will move the photo to the Recently Deleted album where you can empty it immediately or it will be emptied automatically in 30 days.

It'd still be nice to see a menu item for this function though, as in previous versions of the application

"Delete 1 Photo" will appear in the Image menu or the contextual menu, if you hold down the command key ⌘ while viewing the menu. The command key changes the menu.

Well when confronted with idiots like me who kept selecting Delete from library instead of Remove from Album, thereby inadvertently deleting from Library, they probably thought "take the option away from the clumsy fool"

However deleting a whole album will surely take a while if the album covers a whole date range. A long while!

No key combination is working for deleting for me in the release version of Catalina. I rely on the delete key for fast editing. I can always pull them out of the trash anyway so this si an awful option to take this away.

The Delete key above the arrow keys is a forward delete and I don't remember it ever working with iPhoto or Photos, but them I don't remember trying.

Oh no, OT, now I can accidentally delete from Library again d"oh!

Using the menus is currently safer, because Photos sometimes keeps more photos selected than we think to have selected. The menu entry will tell us directly, how many photos we are about to delete.
