iphone OLED Severe Eye Strain (PWM Flicker)

Hello community, I would like to share something which is really serious and has affected me alot.

I bought iphone X in Dec 2017 and within 2 weeks i started having some sort of eye strain and minor headches. I ignored it for a while but then it increased to a really severe level, i never realised it was because of my iphone X until i stopped using it for 3-4 days. Then i opened a case with Apple Support and i told them my problem that this was happening due to PWM technology which is used to dim the brightness of OLED panel. The case went on for 8-9 months but nothing happened and i was stuck to my iphone X.

Then i had a visit to Optometrist and she prescribed me glasses and i never had any vision issues before buying this phone. It was my fault that i kept using this phone and now i have blurry vision without glasses. I have switched to iphone 11 and it is much better now. I could have never imagined that i would have severe medical condition because of the OLED display.

I would like to bring to Apple's notice that this should be resolved asap and they should come up with some better technology as this is affecting a lot of people as i searched on other forums.

It is a known problem with AMOLED displays, particularly small displays set at low brightness levels. Your iPhone 11 uses an LED-backlit LCD display.

The issue with OLED displays does not affect a large proportion of users (I have no issues with OLED on my iPhone XS nor my LG TV). There is nothing for Apple to fix at this point - it is an inherent aspect of current OLED display technology. If someone experiences eye issues with an OLED display, they should indeed stop using it (would go for any display technology though - from cathode ray tubes to paper white displays).

BTW, again, a small proportion of people experience eye strain with LED/LCD displays also. Any display technology will probably adversely affect some people.
