Calendar has number bubble

what does a number mean over the calendar app icon on my phone? Just showed up after iOS 13.1.2 upgrade.

How do I get rid of this number? I do not need to see the notifications and it’s distracting. It was never there before the latest upgrade. Thanks for the speedy responses.

There’s a setting -

Settings - Calendar - Siri &Search - Show Siri Suggestions in App

once this was turned off the annoying number disappeared

Also, you can check the Inbox for Calendar to see if there are any notifications there too.
